September Blog: Change

ree

Have you ever noticed how drastic the change is from summer to fall? The cooler air moves in, and the leaves transform into a breathtaking display of color. Yet, after the beauty comes the shedding—trees stripped bare, and daylight fading faster. At five o’clock in the evening, it can feel as though night has already fallen. That alone is a major adjustment.

We shift wardrobes, moving from light fabrics to layers and coats. Our meals become heartier, filled with comfort foods to match the season. Even our routines bend to the new rhythm of shorter days and longer nights. For some, the transition is deeper than inconvenience—it stirs seasonal depression, sometimes requiring therapy and support. The lingering darkness, the rush of holidays, and shifting family dynamics can weigh heavy. And for those without family, the season can feel even lonelier.

Malachi 3:6

“I the Lord do not change. So you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed.”

Matthew 24:35

“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.”

Hebrews 13:8

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

No matter what changes we may endure in this lifetime, God will never change. He is with us in both the good and the bad. He guides us, teaches us, and lovingly corrects us. Seasons will change, people will change, but thank God He remains the same. He doesn’t change His mind because you’ve messed up—He continues to extend grace and give you another chance.
