I'm a Survivor!

Prior to receiving my diagnosis, I was sitting in the barbershop getting my brows done when a nice pastor approached me and said God told him that He was gonna heal me. I was shocked at first because I had heard about people getting messages from God but I never thought I would be that person! At the time I was waiting for my biopsy results but I was still skeptical because I didn’t know this man from Adam. Then he started talking about other things that I knew ONLY God knew. So, I thought, that was a close call! No breast cancer… or so I thought.

A week later my doctor called and gave me the horrible news and I was in shock and disbelief! I had the big “C!” The first thing I thought about was my daughter. I said, Lord, You promised that I would be healed! I saw my oncologist who told me that I had a rare but treatable form of cancer and because it was caught in an early stage, I only had to do radiation, take a pill for five years but no chemotherapy. The journey was difficult and I stayed tired a lot but I was finally able to ring the bell!
I continued seeing my oncologist who told me that my levels were looking really good and that I may not have to take the pills for more than five years. At my final appointment on March 21, 2025, my oncologist told me I could stop taking the pills. I was so excited! I asked him if I was in remission and he said, No… you are healed!
I looked back to the day that the pastor told me that God said He would heal me and what I believe He was telling me was, “Cheryl, when you talk to the doctor they’re going to tell you that you have cancer but don’t worry because I already healed you!” God is so good and now I know for myself that He is a healer. So, I’ve decided that the big “C” in my life stands for Christ because by His stripes I was healed!
